After rubber became a commodity, Hofman first studied the problem of aging and in 1861 proposed aging and oxygen absorption.
In 1865, Spiller and Miller made the same view. In 1922, Mourea proposed the concept of autocatalytic oxidation. Since then, the theory of oxygen aging has been unified. From 1930 to 1935, there was a modern anti-aging agent. In 1953, Criegee proposed the mechanism of ozone aging.
